Germany is not one of the members of the Three Seas, but a very good partner to the initiative. The President of Germany, Frank-Walter Steinmeier, stresses that Germany stands ready to actively participate in this undertaking. Germany shares the overall objective of the initiative and sees that it has huge potential to create synergies and thus provide important added value to the region.
Statement by His Excellency Frank-Walter Steinmeier, Federal President of the Federal Republic of Germany on the Three Seas Initiative
Germany shares the overall objective of the „Three Seas Initiative“, driven by EU member states between the Baltic, the Black and the Adriatic Sea: reinforcing energy security, connectivity and welfare in Europe. Building on established EU policies and instruments, the initiative has huge potential to create synergies and thus provide important added value to the region.
Germany stands ready to actively participate in this undertaking. I pay tribute to President Kaljulaid for her strong personal commitment as this year’s host of the first virtual summit of the initiative.
Implementing the Three Seas priority projects will be a decisive game changer in the sustainable development of our region and of Europe as a whole. The consistent increase in their number reveals the growing level of our ambitions, stated President Rumen Radev, who opened the Sixth Three Seas Initiative Summit today in the National Palace of Culture in Sofia.
