The Three Seas Initiative (3SI) is proving itself as a valuable tool for achieving economic and social cohesion between Eastern and Western Europe. The active commitment on behalf of the European Commission will contribute to achieving this goal, stated President Rumen Radev during a meeting at the Presidency with Tsvetan Kyulanov, acting President of the EC Representative Office in Bulgaria.
The European Commission is among the 3SI strategic partners along with the USA and the Federal Republic of Germany. The Head of State affirmed that as rotational president of the Initiative, Bulgaria will continue working for the synchronisation of 3SI projects with EU policies. “The regional Three Seas Initiative contributes to overcoming the existing infrastructure differences and promotes the integration of the 12 European countries in the Region with Western Europe, thus strengthening the whole European Union,” said President Radev. He extended the invitation for a high-level representative of the EC to participate in the upcoming Summit in Sofia.
The acting President of the EC Representative Office in Bulgaria, Mr. Tsvetan Kyulanov, reiterated the support expressed by Executive Vice-President Margrethe Vestager for the 3SI and emphasised the achievements in developing the Initiative’s Investment Fund. He outlined cooperation opportunities, highlighting synchronising 3SI projects with the priorities set out in the EU Recovery and Resilience Plan.
