Overcoming the socio-economic inequalities between Eastern and Western Europe in the context of the Three Seas Initiative was discussed today by Head of State Rumen Radev during his first meeting with Fabrizio Zarcone, World Bank Country Manager for Bulgaria, the Czech Republic and Slovakia.

This year, Bulgaria will host the Sixth Summit of the Three Seas Initiative (3SI), which brings together 12 European states between the Adriatic, Baltic and Black Seas. During the conversation, President Radev emphasised the importance of the 3SI for the improvement and modernisation of infrastructure connectivity in the region. Realising joint projects under the Initiative will contribute to convergence within the entire European Union, the Head of State further added.

The development of the scientific, educational, and technological potential of the region and the implementation of joint innovation projects contribute to the enhancement of the transport, digital and energy connectivity within the region, as was also noted during the meeting between Mr. Rumen Radev and Mr. Fabrizio Zarcone.
