The United States has been a strong supporter of the Three Seas Initiative from the start and it addresses many of our shared priorities. President Biden and I believe deeply in working closely with our allies and partners, because we know that there is power and strength in cooperation. That is what the 3SI is all about. This was the message of the U.S. Secretary of State Antony J. Blinken in his remarks on the Three Seas Initiative. He reaffirmed the United States’ robust support for the goals of the Initiative in a video address during the first videoconference of foreign ministers and national coordinators of the 12 participating countries under the Bulgarian Chair.
We applaud your work, and are eager to work with you to strengthen a
Europe that is whole, free, prosperous and at peace - added U.S.
Secretary of State. Like you, we want more regional economic development. Your
work to build better infrastructure in the energy, transportation and digital
sectors are key to that goal and will strengthen EU integration. Your efforts
to strengthen energy security are vital for stability and well-being of the
region, said US Secretary of State Blinken.
He admires the 3SI approach by using of public-private partnership. “Bringing the private sector to the table alongside governments is a smart way to make big infrastructure projects happen. Launching more projects you can more powerfully demonstrate the value of this Initiative – to your constituents and to the world. And a bigger Investment Fund will make that possible”, added Antony Blinken.
He wished success in 2021 under the Bulgarian Chair.
